Campromelin is drug developed by the Pfizer drug company. It is a drug that functions as a growth hormone secretagogue and ghrelin mimetic which helps the body secrete human growth hormones that is seen in puberty and young adulthood.

As elderly people have lower levels of growth hormones, Capromorelin is used for its therapeutic value in aging adults as low levels of growth hormones lead to less lean muscle mass which in turn leads to weakness. After using the drug, patients reported an average of 3 pounds increase in lean muscle mass.

However Capromorelin has not received approval from FDA so far as FDA does not consider aging to be a disease. They need more evidence of benefit and non-toxicity to approve the use of Capromorelin as an anti-aging agent.

With the increased lean mass Capromorelin gives, there is reduced fat accumulation in the body. This may not provide eternal youth but helps an aging person to look after themselves and stay home while enjoying a better life.

There are some side effects with the use of Capromorelin like increased fatigue, increased fasting glucose levels and insomnia as growth of hormone levels beyond a normal proportion may lead to health problems. Genotropin is another anti-aging drug introduced by Pfizer that was meant to treat weak bones and muscles.

However with its usage, there were reports of side effects like redness, swelling, inflammation, headache, low thyroid activity, fat loss, rash and low thyroid activity. Comparing this with Capromorelin gives more the reason for one to frown upon Capromorelin.
