CAPTOPRIL   CAPTOPRIL

Captopril is a generic drug which belongs to the category of ACE (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme) inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, heart related problems like congestive heart failure, and kidney problems due to diabetes, among others. It is greatly used to increase the chances of survival of patients after a major heart attack.  One can find a great deal of information on Captopril over the internet. You can also shop around for Captopril over online pharmacies. It is always recommended though that you take this medication only in consultation with your doctor or pharmacy.

If you are allergic to ACE inhibitors, you are not advised to take Captopril. Also, if you happen to have kidney or liver related problems, diabetes, or heart problems, it’s not advisable to take this drug without consulting your physician. The drug has been classified under FDA pregnancy category D, so if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, you should not take this drug.
Captopril might produce some mild side effects like cough, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and loss of appetite. However, these symptoms are commonly reported by patients who take this drug and you can continue your medication. In rare cases, due to an allergic reaction or over dosage, you might experience serious side effects like difficulty breathing, hives, swollen face, irregular heartbeats, fainting, and chest pain. In such cases, stopping the medication at once is recommended. One also needs to seek immediate medical attention under such circumstances.
