Evra is a plastic transdermal patch used for female contraception. Evra works by inhibiting the release of eggs from the ovary at ovulation. It also works by lathering the cervical mucus and the lining of the womb. Evra is available on prescription from your doctor and is known to give the same level of protection against pregnancy as the pill. The sticky part of the transdermal patch contains ethinyl estradiol and norelgestromin which are continuously released into the blood stream.

Women can wear the Evra path discreetly under their clothing. The four areas of the body where the patch can be worn are the stomach, the upper back, the upper outer arm and the buttocks. One can also wear the patch at different places each week. You should inform your doctor about any other medical condition that you may before using Evra. Evra is too avoided when you have any other type of heart disease, tumors of the breast, womb or vagina or in cases of severe liver problems.
