Solodyn Tablet

The Solodyn tablet is an extended-release formulation of minocycline HCl for the treatment of inflammatory lesions of nonnodular moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients. Individuals who are attempting to conceive a child should not use Minocycline extended-release tablets nor should they be taken during pregnancy; concurrent use of minocycline may reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives.

Acne solodyn

Solodyn is effective for treating most acne conditions except for those that are nodular. It contains the antibiotic minocycline, part of the tetracycline family, and generally acts by killing the acne-causing bacteria that contributes to acne lesions.

Side Effects of Solodyn

The most commonly reported adverse events related to use of the study drug included fatigue, headache, dizziness, and pruritus. Although central nervous system adverse effects, such as dizziness, light-headedness, and vertigo, have been reported with other minocycline therapies, these were not significant in patients receiving extended-release tablets. Among these, Photosensitivity reported rarely.
